I've seen multiple comments about individual GEC 43s having blade rap. Is this pretty common with this model? I've been thinking about picking one up but I won't if it's a common issue. Also, any comments on the pull would be appreciated.

I have three 43s that I snap shut with a vengeance and haven't noticed any blade rap using the old eyeball and thumbnail tests. Not saying there isn't any but not enough to cause me any issues on mine. That being said, the other thread certainly shows some 43s had it bad.

Even if it does rap the spring a little bit, with a name like UseitorLoseit, you’ll get past the point the blade will do it after just a couple of sharpenings.

No blade wrap on 4 that I’ve owned .
Currently have just a Brazilian cherry thats a safe queen and just a fondler :)
Personally If I had one that was a slapper I just wouldn’t let it slam shut !
There that nice and worth the extra love and wouldnt see that it’s a issue .

Excellent, thank you for your responses. Guess I'll have to pick one up and check it out for myself.
I am glad that made up your mind to go ahead and get one . I have a couple and neither one has Blade Rap and they are impressive knives to carry . They are a handful but not a Pocketful . I like them a lot and good luck with your's .

Mine had blade rap but I don’t care. It is a sweet knife and great slicer.

Here's alittle more encouraging!!! I really really like this pattern. The Cocobolo had a slight amount of rap but nothing that wouldn't disappear with a couple of sharpenings. My advice is to get one. IMG_3954.PNG IMG_4107.PNG
