So I am sure many of us have been here before but what do you guys do with a knife that cut you the 1st day you owned it. Totally my fault I was not paying attention to what I has doing and gave myself a pretty good slice with the pen blade on the tip of my index finger. I wont bore you with the details but the reality is this thing drew blood the 1st day. Is it a bad omen? Does it give you a strange bond with the knife? this is a little tongue in cheek... Here is a picture of the culprit.

That's usually the moment I consider it to be truly my own. A large portion of the knives I've gotten drew blood on the first day. Most of the time, like you, it's my own fault. I think it's because I fiddle with them a lot more on the first day, and fiddling around with a sharp object is bound to cause some sort of injury.

I'm 90% sure 100% of the knives I own and carry regularly bit me at some point. Some much worse than others, wiping off my fixed blades tend to be the biggest offenders. Either after I've finished cleaning my game or when I've hacked through every damned jagger bush in sight and need to wipe off the blade.

Don't be superstitious, it brings bad luck. :(:D:D:D:rolleyes:

you wiped the blood off...didn't you see the movie..."No son, the bloods stays on the blade"

Means nothing, (I did it too!) other than your knife is sharp, and that's what you want,,, isn't it?

The only knife related injury that was not my fault occurred when a large piece of the edge of my first fixed blade knife detached while slicing the bark off a log hitting me and causing what is essentially a pin prick(never again will I ever purchase an ozark trail knife, glass is sharper while still having comparable toughness). In all other cases any cuts/injuries were my fault and even with knives where I would repeatedly cut myself like my gec 15 for the first week I owned it, I blamed my own inexperience not the knife.

Thought I better let you know...I checked with my buddy's grandma who is visiting from what she calls " the old country". She has always been a good source for all things related to the supernatural. According to her, all knives have demons that travel from one owner to the next. The demons attach themselves to first person to be cut with the knife. These demons can cause your knife blades to become unaccountably dull, they can enter into your body through the cut causing sickness and deformities along with other terrible things to numerous to list. She said the only way to get rid of these demons was to sell the knife for no more than 1/10 of the purchase value. This shows the demons how little you value the knife and out of sheer humiliation they will leave you and travel along with the knife to the new owner. She also said that you must sell it to whoever makes the first offer to buy it or the demons will know you are just trying to fool them. Being a brave soul, and always on the lookout to help another knife collector I will offer you 1/10 of your purchase price, she also said that the shipping had to be included. Contact we with your PP info and I will get the money to you soonest...there is no time to waste.

Then it would really show those demons how little they mean when you just send those knives to me with no cost. We can only do this if we all work together! :)

Team effort yup that’s what I’m talking about and I’ll be sure to send you the over flow “if there is any “ :p

Don't listen to them. Knives are our friends and they look out for us. Maybe your knife sensed a demon inside you and cut you to let it out. Your knife is a "keeper".

All this caring and concern just reaffirms my belief that knife collectors are some of the finest folk around. If I wasn't so convinced of this I'd think a couple of you guys were trying to horn in on my generous offer to help. I'll keep you guys in mind though, just in case I need some help selling this ocean front property with private beach, house and small lake, I have in Arizona.
