Hello guys,

A while back I posted a question about these patterns; the responses I received then were good--I am pretty sure I like the patterns... However, what I'm still pretty unsure about is the practicality of the main blade. I typically carry either a GEC #42 or a #23 (sometimes a Buck 110)--so large blades are fine--but just how practical is the main blade on the 45/46? Does it work as a general edc--dealing with everything from opening boxes/packages, peeling cutting fruit/ food prep, and even light/ moderate wood work? Does anyone use these patterns in such a way?

Thanks so much--(and one day I hope to be more tech friendly and savvy and finally post some picks).

I pocket a #42 quite often and also carry larger modern knives frequently. I like full size blades I guess. I recently bought a #36 Sunfish as it was about the same overall length as the #42 and I have always wanted a large Sunfish. The thing is simply a beast, I love it! I simply throw it in my back pocket and go but the knife dwarfs the #42. It is okay for the tasks you question but mainly due to the secondary blade. Honestly, the pen gets more use than the main so far in my limited exposure. Not sure about the 45/46's, love the looks of them but they are a whole different animal and much bigger than the #36. I'm interested in hearing user impressions as well. And lots of pics!!
