Although there was a 2023 run of Vipers, started a new thread as the 2024s have a different tang stamp. GEC's website shows horsecut purple sage and ironwood covers. Ironwood looks exactly like the 2023 run and haven't seen one in the wild. Purple sage horsecut looks great and feels great in hand, not many made of either SKU. Love the UN-X-LD shield on the horsecut. One could speculate that GEC had some leftover Viper parts from 2023 they used for this run but that is pure speculation. Have a great Valentine's Day, remind those you love how much you love them! Taking my bride for crablegs for lunch and doing a Cowboy ribeye in the stick burner for supper.

I posted this one in the "Let's talk GEC" thread. I guess it's not on the production schedule, but it's marked 470124 on the tang and features Black Plum Jigged Bone covers. The interesting thing to me is that even though this exact pattern/cover configuration was released a few months ago, the jigging pattern on this '24 run seems to go in the opposite direction to the ones in the '23 run.

Edit: Just in case there's any question on the stamp, here it is:

Great looking knife! Where would you rate the pull and how is the walk and talk on the new Viper?

Perfect? Easily pinchable, but also not a nail-breaker if you use the pull. I'd say a crisp 5 or 6. Snaps confidently into all positions, but not in a freaky way where it feels like the blade is getting pulled from your fingers, easy to control through the entire range of motion. Just about perfect as far as I'm concerned. My Stone Wash Blue Natural Bone Tidioute from the '23 run I'd rate a 6 or 7 - just a touch stiffer, but not really any more snappy.

Thanks, Sounds great. Now I really want to get an Ironwood!
