This model has really caught my eye the 3 blade version.

I'm just hoping some of Y'all might have some pics of it with all blades in or just one of the blades out. How is the width and length? Is it comfortable to use and how well does it set in your pocket?

thanks!

One of my favorite GEC's

Very comfortable, solid and a true worker. But ever since my Clip blade Gabon Ebony Barlow arrived in March the #56 just hasn't been carried much :(

I've got a 2 blade jack and it's my #1 carry knife. Fits the hand perfectly and also fits my jeans watch pocket nicely.

Those are some nice ones! I have a 66 but its a bit short I think that 1/2" extra would be ideal. Then the additional third blade I'm thinking would be very useful!

Keep 'em coming please.

The 56 and the 66 are nearly the same length, less than a sixteenth of an inch difference.

I owned a 56 Dogleg in stag but the stag was insanely anorexic, so I traded it to a friend.
But, the clip blade has an awesome profile and the whole knife rides well in pocket.
Are you talking about getting the 57 Gepetto Whittler? That's another winner.

Dang I just checked, I thought the 66 was 3" I'm hoping for something more than 3 1/2" then though I really like the 3 blade style on the 56.

Excuse the poor photo. I really like my two bladed #56. It carries very well, I think because it is so rounded and curvy. It is also a very solid knife that I always feel can easily handle big jobs when I am using it. I am surprised that it's not more popular.

My two blade 56 in the top right of this pic. Just sharpened her up and put her in my pocket yesterday.

The 56 is my favourite GEC. The frontier bone makes it very slim also. However, I seem to remeber that there was a bit of a issue with them being under bladed. Not suire if this effected their initial popularity. They sure seem hard to find now thought, at least in the clip/pen configuration.

Yes, there is underblading with the clip/pen #56 but it doesn't affect functionality, it's just a cosmetic issue (I believe). I'm not sure that affected their popularity though... GEC subsequently came out with the spear/pen version and then the versions with a hawkbill. Plenty of weaver's jacks out there (with hawkbill), a few spear/pen, almost no clip/pen.
