GEC #65LB folder. Anything to watch out for? Any experience with them?

I'm really fascinated with this model. It has good length with a fairly light weight design. I wouldn't expect Missouri Trader strength but I don't feel I need it either. I'm more worried about loose blade, side to side and up & down like I've found on other brands knives knives that are long and thin. The thin design doesn't seem to keep tight pivots on other brands ( Queen city, for example).

I love the knifes lines and measurements, especially the wood models but don't know anyone that has one and have never held one. I have 7 other GEC knives and am very happy with every one. They seem head and shoulders above some other brands during actual use.
Good or bad experiences as well as pictures compared to the #72, 42, as well as Bull nose, Farmer lockback in O-1. etc.

Likes are GEC, Queen mountain man & folding hunter, and KaBar Coppersmith & root beer.

Thank you.

I bought one, kept in the knife drawer and sold it to another member. I didn't have any issues with it, but I kept it in my knife drawer.

Didn't like the size or feel?

I have never had one but have been tempted by them quite a bit. The size is the only thing that has kept me from picking one up.

I have handled a few of these and have never seen any blade issues with the 65lb. Very solid and tight lockup.

Nothing except for being fickle. I already have a Tidioute Ben Hogan slipjoint 65. The blade shape on the LB was perfect, but I felt the handle was too small for my big paws. Mind you, I carry a single blade spear point Charlow every day. I think it was just my OCD kicking in.

I have had a few, held onto a Copperhead bone lockback. Very very nice fit and finish on them, great slender shape and a very different animal than the other 4.5" GEC knives like the 23. For me, I would consider it a lighter-duty back pocket-style knife in areas where there aren't too many blade length restrictions.

I'll try to get some comparison pics up for you later. I would say that it's a nice GEC to have and a welcome departure from their often overdone and ungainly patterns.
I just wish they would come out with a lockback spear point...!

I haven't handled mine in a while but I remember it having tight lockup if that's what you're asking. Here's a group locker shot I took a while back. #23L, #65LB, #72LB, #73L, Schrade auto
