Hi all - would someone be willing to post comparison pics of a GEC #66 vs a #77?

Thanks in advance! :)

Here you go Jon...

#66 HJ and #77 Barlow.

66 Calf Roper Slim and 77 Washington Jack, with a 15 for reference.

The 66 and 15 are both 3 1/2" patterns, and the 77 is a scaled up 15. Subjectively, the 66 and 15 both feel relatively substantial in the hand and are not "small knives," but the 77 feels noticeably bigger.

Thing is though, with Traditional patterns a little bit bigger/smaller actually make a big difference in how they carry.

Coon fingering my Forum Knife 14 a 77 frame and a 66 Rotten Banana Jack on my desk at the moment. The main difference is of course the frame pattern. 66 being Serpentine two spring (there is the Slim version which is single-spring 2 blades though) and the 77s I have are both single spring and Swell End which clearly feels different in the hand. Other handling differences are the 66 is devoid of half-stop and is a very smooth opener, the 77 having a strong 'barking' half-stop.

In terms of weight, the 77 based Forum Knife in Stag shows 65g The 66 RB Jack is a bulkier 74g despite being smaller and the Slim 66 is just 55g

Thanks, Will

Will - thanks for the explanation! You're right, you never know how it's gonna feel till you try it the first time. The pics help a little bit trying to use the imagination, but ultimately just fuel the "buy now" desire so you can try it in hand. :D
