I searched the internet and havent found a picture of a GEC 71 bullnose next to 72 lockback. I would like to see them next to eachother for size comparison.

If someone would not mind snapping a shot, I would appreicate it!

Thank you!

Hi there rishma,
A friend pointed out to me the other day that the GEC 71 bullnose, 72 lockback, and 73 scout all rest within the same dimensions.

The only difference between them are the blade shapes, the lockback on the 72 and the middle "hump" within the handle.
I'll get a photo of my 73 and my 71 to show you but the length of the handle and width from knife to knife and blade length are all the same. 3 7/8" closed.

The 73 is 1/8" shorter than the others, which makes a difference. The 71 is a sodbuster, the others are not.

anytime Rishma they're all wonderful knives.

And yes as abcdef there's the slightest of difference in the closed length..but they're equal opened up in a full position as far as I can see.

As Tim's friend said; " the GEC 71 bullnose, 72 lockback, and 73 scout all rest within the same dimensions." Maybe a tad different in length but who's counting?

Here is a hurried picture of the three of them I took this morning. A bit out of focus but representative none the less and of course all well used.

Top to Bottom: #71, #72, #73

As it goes for these three patterns, I prefer the drop point blade of the #71 and #73 over the clip point blade of the #72.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrr, uh Andy. If yer lookin for a #73, keep it to yourself - OK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect picture Ed, thanks for taking the time to post it. Great looking pocket worn folders!

I am looking for........pictures!....and now I found them. Much appreciated. :p

IMO the biggest difference is in the width of the shoulders, the 71 is quite chunky whereas the bolsters in the #73 and #72 are thin. You can see this in one of the photos above.

Which one do you recommend? The 71 bullnose or the new run 72 with improved lock?
