Hi,

A beautiful traditional folder I really love is the GEC #72 Mini Lockback Beaver Tail, in the 3 7/8" lengh, with the lanyard hole. I was just on Great Eastern Cutlery's site and checked with all off their
dealers and none seem to have this model anymore.
Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a new one still? Are they still being made by GEC??

I would only be interested in the 3 7/8" length, NOT the 4.25" length.

I would certainly appreciate any help!

Michael

Second on that. When you come onto the scene a little late, some of these gems are hard to come by. Hopefully another run of these will be made soon.

I did some searching at my usual spots and all I could find was a single blade scout non locking 3.5 blade on page 2 of collectorknives site and also a few model 42s with the 4.27 blade. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help I could have swore I saw one the other day.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that GEC has anything in continuous production. They make a batch of a pattern in several materials then move on to another pattern. That's not to say that they won't ever make another batch of what you want, just that they're not making them right now.

I hope you find one. Great knife, you can easily open it with one hand, and as you probably already know, GEC's 1095 gets way sharp. I have a wharnie with the red bone and a clip in the blue stonewash. The blue was my first GEC and still my favorite.

I have been looking everywhere for a couple weeks I wanted the wharncliffe one I haven't given up if I find I'll holler

I've been hoping GEC makes the wharncliffe 72 again this year. <fingers crossed> I'm still kicking myself for not picking up the 440C version in red bone awhile back.

I have been keeping my eyes open for a beaver tail 72 for a while now. Hopefully GEC will revisit that pattern again sometime soon. The 72 is probably my favorite locking pattern.
