This GEC "Scout" Trapper has been lightly belt sheath-carried and lightly used to cut herbs, fruit and other soft materials. The blades are full, wobble-free, unscratched and have been carefully touched-up on fine ceramic rods. The 1095 carbon steel has developed a very light and extremely even patina, and the blade etch is faint. The springs are a very nice uniform gray.

The scales are spectacular deeply grooved blood-red stag that's nicely matched in texture, thickness and color. The front scale came from the factory a tiny bit short--around 1/32"--so the liner is just visible at the end of the handle (see the 3rd image from the top) The bolster is serial numbered and scratch free.

3-3/4" closed; 3.8 oz; flush joints. The springs are flush both open and closed, but slightly shy at the halfstops. Both blades have a good, strong snap, but they definitely aren't nail-breakers.

Much as I like the knife, I've decided that I don't need two full-length blades, along with their attendant weight and bulk.
