Just wanted to show off my GEC #73 Scout Trapper in 440c. It's been getting a good workout lately at our building project that I am managing here in Kenya. The main blade is already all scratched up and looks great. Im just loving this knife!

I'm really glad to see it being put to good use.

Beautiful knife.

GEC does a top notch job with 440C and the #73 is a stellar design.

Congrats!

I like it. Looks like a classy workhorse.
Who knows, in the future the 73 could be an upgrade from my Case mini Trapper.
I'll stay basic for now though :D

Nice to see that knife getting some use, I love the 73 in 440C, it just seems to keep cutting and cutting:thumbup: a great choice for lasting performance and minimal care. It will surely serve you well. Yours is quite easy on the eye as well!

Nice knife. I have a 73 linerlock and have been impressed, so much so that I am looking to pick up one or two more.

Does anyone know when the next production run of single blade 73 scouts and 72 lockback hunters will be? They seem to be getting pretty hard to find.

I've been asking the Folks at GEC about this for a couple months at least. I imagine some of the other Distributors have too. I haven't heard anything positive yet.

Thanks for the info Bob. I would have thought the 72 and 73 at a guess would be two of their most popular patterns with high demand.

They are! Without a doubt! Hopefully we will some in the not-too-distant future!

Whats your email Marc?

In many ways the 73 epitomizes GEC, it's their first pattern and offers a lot of versatility, big enough but no house brick in the pocket.

I'd like to see a single blade stainless next time round.

I think a single blade 440c would be awesome. Ive been carrying this one since I got it over a week ago and really like it

A Beavertail with cherry wood in 440c is my perfect traditional. That would be an awesome knife...

I've never been a guy that has two or more of the same knife. I've got quite a few 15 barlows, and my 73 collection is growing. I believe that Christian stated that the 15 and 73 patterns were GEC's most popular and best made patterns. I agree with him!
