I love those new Washington Jack knives! I normally only buy spear points from Great Eastern, but this one really called to me like the Schrade 2OT, English Jack from Schatt & Morgan, and similar Queen City jack knives in my collection.

It seems the Washington Jacks are no longer available. In fact, from the last hour of reading forum posts it seems that they were all pre-ordered and never actually in stock at any dealer. If someone can correct this statement (without naming dealers or prices, or sending unsolicited sales offers), I'm all ears.

But my question remains... How to they compare to the Schatt & Morgan File&Wire knife as far as materials, size, snap, etc.?

---------------

Also regarding the #77 Medium Barlow, these were all clip points and never made with a spear point, correct?

I'd be all over a spear point Medium Barlow, either as a single blade or with a secondary pen blade.

The spear point meduim Barlows are coming soon.

Look forward to it.

My problem, I step away from the computer or take a break from the hobby and miss the 'good stuff'. To fix that, I'm following GEC on Facebook now...

Knowing Charlie, the designer and creator of the beautiful Washington Jacks, there will probably be more in the future. They were a great success and much loved by the ones who were lucky enough to get one or two. As far as a comparison to the Schatts, I would say very close if not a bit better to some degree. Snap or walk and talk can vary from knife to knife within a single or multi runs, and from brand also, hard to know that answer. You just have to get lucky.
