Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has the 81 Coon Skinner and can comment on it. The blades are almost completely hidden when closed - is it hard to get traction on them to get them open? What is the pull like? Are there halfstops? Do the blades rub on each other when opening or closing?

Thank you so much in advance for any replies!

Thanks Ed, but that's not what I need. I'm looking for feedback from someone who actually owns one. I checked Youtube and couldn't find anything there either.

I enjoy mine.

Blades sit deep in the handle so - it takes a little bit of concentration to get it open - but it rides nice in the pocket.

Pull is 5-6 , no half stops.

Mine came sharp, and with a bit of touch up, is now wicked sharp!

Cutting duties have been almost exclusively food prep surprisingly. I teach in a Preschool class, and I'm the guy cutting grapes, and bananas, the #81 handles it great -

Thank you John! I appreciate the info. I tend to go for blades that easily pinch open but the look of this one is just so streamlined. It also seems a bit long but I love the thin profile and double muskrat clip blades. All around pretty nice in my opinion, now I think I'll have to try one myself.
