As some of you know I’m new to this sport. Thank you for the warm welcome. One of my goals is to collect a complete set of 88s. I thought I would share my progress (from left to right):
  • Desert Ironwood
  • Swamp Green Jigged Bone
  • Yeti Ivory Acrylic
  • Black Linen
  • Slip Joint Collectors (UK) Swamp Green Jigged Bone - Satin Finish Blades (50 made - no serial numbers)
  • 2022 Rendezvous Diamond King Acrylic (#18 of 50)
  • Oregon Knife Collectors Chestnut Peach Seed Jigged Bone (50 made with no serial numbers, 50 made with serial numbers)
  • Allegheny Mountain Knife Collectors Association (AMKCA) Swamp Green Jigged Bone (#21 of 32)
NOTE: I don’t have the Satin Gator sold at Rendezvous and right now I’m rationalizing that it doesn’t count because it’s a “S”. However, if someone has one and they want to help me out please let me know.

Thanks to everyone that has helped me find a knife or has reluctantly sold one to me.

I only see 1 that you are missing. The elusive 2 for 1 888122 combo. It wasn't very popular as the build quality was pretty poor, but I have it on good authority that the maker will never make another so this is quite a rare pair of knives.

All kidding aside, that is a fantastic collection you have. The 88 is a great pattern.

I don't even know what I'm looking at here. LOL

Cool! AMKCA is double shielded, wow. So OKC now get jigged bone instead of jigged Brazilian cherry?

I find it interesting that even on the same knife GEC can't make up their minds which way to orient the animal shields . . .
gator one way and the beaver the other.

Yes, I'm sure there's a reason the beaver is facing the other direction but I don't know what that reason would be.

The beaver is actually facing the right direction. I think that the actual question is why the gator is facing wrong one, and the answer is most likely because it's too big to look good upside down while holding the knife.

To my sensibilities, the gator is facing correctly, i.e. its back is toward the backsprings. If you notice the picture in post #2 of the #23 Pioneer, the beaver has his back to the backspring. I prefer this orientation, although I hardly think there is a firm and fast right or wrong.
