As title says, would like to know thickness of GEC blades.

Also, typical thickness of slip joint blades in general.

I think most knives are overbuilt - blades too thick. In general slip joints seem to be an exception I find refreshing.

Anyone else find this the case?

All blades measured with a dial caliper with blade open, across the flats between kick and frame.

Single clip blade 3.48" Tom's Choice Barlow = .095"

Two blade 3.75" #73 Jack, spey main = .095"; pen secondary = .072"

Three blade 4.13" #54 Cigar Whittler, clip main = .095"; pen and spey secondaries = .072"

For comparison, I measured the 3.63" Queen #70 D2 sodbuster in my pocket @ .105".

Absolutely. One of the good things about slipjoint design.

You will have to be more specific. Which GEC did you have in mind? Some models have thicker blades than others. This is true for all knife companies.

Overall, I have found GEC blade geometry to be very good.
