GEC Boys Knife/Cap Lifter vs Beer Scout

I am looking to pick up my first traditional in some time. Are the only differences between the GEC 15 cap lifter and beer scout that the beer scout has a shield/bail and cap lifter has etch? Mainly speaking of latest Boys knife with EO
 
Pretty much. Although the boys knife has Iron liners and bolsters, the Beerscout has brass liners and Nickle silver bolsters. I prefer the Brass and Nickle. Others prefer the Iron.
 
The 15 is the perfect pocket knife pattern for me personally.
Enjoy whichever you choose!
 
I prefer the bail/lanyard hold and cleaner blade, but prefer no shield of the Caplifter. I must say I prefer the long nick on the beer scout though

IMO, the latest caplifters look a little plain without any shields.
 
Anyone have the story on where the image on the crown lifter blades came from? Always wondered but couldn't really find anything on it.
