GEC congress pull strength?

how is the pull on the GEC congress models? Taking a SAK as a 5 for a reference point. I have a maverick, which has the same frame and a pen and sheepsfoot on one spring, I find the larger blade here has too weak a pull for my liking, 2-3, I wondered if this was generally the case for GEC congress models? Of course getting enough money together for the forum special is my first priority, the jackknife pattern will guarantee stronger pulls, but I was still curious about the half-congresses (sheep and pen) that GEC offer.

I've had three full Congress and three half Congress knives from GEC. And I'd say all three full were about a 5. The half-Congress were lighter, about a 3-4. The pen blades on the full Congress models were a little tough to open but not because of the pull but because of the tiny nail nick.

Just compared my #61 to my Tinker - so close, it's hard to tell, *maybe* the #61 is slightly stronger....

It's hard to make an exact comparison because of the half-stop, but my Northfield 61 half-congress has a very slightly stiffer pull than my Cybertool (91mm plastic handles), but slightly lighter than my Pioneer (91mm ALOX).

Proof positive that you can't please everyone!

I like an 7-8 on the pull scale (thought what I consider to be an 8, many think of as a 9-10)

thanks for the responses, seems noone has had an experience of weak pulls, so it is safe to buy :)

The 61 HC I have has a strong pull and snap, it would not be liked by those thrilled by weak pull

The only thing I'm not keen about it is that it has such a short blade relative to frame size

Regards, Will
