GEC Ebony wood

Could anyone describe how the wood on GEC knives is treated? Hardened? Stabilized?

i think that ebony is just sanded/polished.

Ebony is fairly stable, with a lot of natural oils, IIRC. I've had good luck with natural ebony so far.

No need to harden/stabilize ebony. I have a number of hundred+ year old antiques that bear testament to that. And my experience carrying ebony scaled knives on a daily basis confirms that.

It's worked very well as guitar fingerboards and bridges, for years. I'd say it's pretty stable.
