I've been looking around online, and have become very interested in the GEC executive whittler and gambler models. I was wondering if these patterns were exclusive to GEC, or are there other companies making them?

You may have luck finding similar knives from other companies if you search for "melon sampler". They will be different but have a similar long narrow frame.

Most of the melon or fruit samplers I have seen are single blade knives. The GEC whittlers/gamblers/melon knives are somewhat unique as multi-bladed knives. Of course, there is a possibility that there are some out there that I don't know about.

I recently picked up one of these and it has grown on me. There is a thread here recently about them including a number of pictures.

As I indicated in theat thread, the Bernard Levine 4th Edition p.251 also describes this pattern or a very similar pattern as a 3 bladed physician's knife. You may want to include that in your search.

Here is a link to the other thread.

I've got my weather eye on one in Antique Yellow Bone, a very recent release. Certainly an unusual and streamlined knife.

Yes, they are a sleek, elegant knife. I was amazed at the build when I got mine. They must be a bear to get right.
