Hello Friends,

I recently finished collecting a full run of the Great Eastern Cutlery 63 pattern and I thought I would share.

The 63 came in three versions. A single blade (13 covers), two blade fish knife (three covers), and the Templar (three covers).

The 63 was only produced in 2015 and I believe it is the sixth rarest pattern (849 total).

19 different covers (number produced from highest to lowest):
  • American Elk - 87
  • Smooth Yellow Rose Bone - 72
  • Black Water Jig Bone - 59
  • American Chestnut Wood - 55
  • Burnt Orange Jig Bone - 55
  • Chestnut Jig Bone - 50
  • Gabon Ebony - 48
  • Burnt Orange Jig Bone - 48
  • Maroon Jigged Micarta - 45
  • Natural Stag - 45 (serialized)
  • Kryptonite Acrylic - 42 (Templar)
  • Shark Attack Acrylic - 41 (Templar)
  • Mardi Gras Acrylic - 38 (Templar)
  • Burnt Stag - 38
  • Sunbrite Acrylic - 37
  • Fish Scale Acrylic - 37
  • Blue Camel Bone -27
  • Neptune Acrylic - 16
  • Kryptonite Acrylic - 9
Black Water Jig Bone, Maroon Jigged Micarta, and Fish Scale Acrylic have only been used on the 63. Neptune Acrylic has only been used on the 63 and 38. Blue Camel Bone is the only SFO (Knives Ship Free). Natural Stag is the only serialized cover.

Thanks for looking and If I can help you in some way let me know and I’ll do my best.

Rick

Hello, I don't see it in the production totals. There was a 48 black micarta Templar. Maybe that's what you are thinking about?

Wow! That’s a stellar collection you put together. How long did it take you to collect them all and what inspired you, is it one of your favorite models?

Thank you. I started 6-7 months back after reading a post from Charlie. I love the variations of covers and the fin. It's also low volume which made it a fun challenge. Rick

awesome, thanks for sharing the collection! one of your last posts was how i learned that a 63 even existed - super neat to see them next to each other

good for you  nice collection what a wonderful feeling when you complete a collection
I'm still working on HJs and my hardest was collecting an entire year of baseball cards and I still have them

Lovely collection.

I've been really drawn to yellow rose bone variants, not sure what it is but they do it for me!

Ah yes the Slightly different 48s....gotcha
Superb collection and what an array of the choicest scale materials.👍👍
