Hey all

just wondering what your thoughts are on GEC frontier bone?

I'm looking at a 42 Missouri Trader with it (because I'm not 100% on the Northfield cut swedges)

I was sceptical at first but the semi translucent buttery frontier bone really grew on me and I have no regrets. also,I totally prefer the more
"subtle" tidioute swedges. they especially bring out the good looks on skinner/ drop point and wharncliffe blades. Swedges are a personal preference and i would never talk anyone out of cut swedges, but they have their time and place

I have a #56 with Frontier bone and I am really happy with it. If I ever get around to ordering a bigger GEC I would consider it again.

well I bit the bullet and have a single blade 42 coming in the frontier bone. Couldn't get into the cut swedge on this pattern. I'm hoping this knife replaces the Buck 110 (I reckon it will)

Cheers

This was the fist GEC I bought. First of Aug. now I own 9.

Got one, too! Kind of wish it was sawcut, but I don't mind it smooth. Always reminds me of a beagle or a bulldog due to the colour combo... :)

That is the exact knife that I have. It was my first ever smooth bone pocket knife and I really like it as is. I see what you mean about it reminding you of a beagle. To me it just has a sort of natural look and feel to it. Like something a settler might have carried on his trip out west. It's good stuff,I think you will be happy Waldganger..
