Recently I picked up this knife in the sales forum. When it arrived, I was truly smitten with it. The original owner had kept it pristine, but I knew in an instant that I could not. It went into the pocket that day. The longer I carry it, the more personality comes out. Fine ridges become more distinct and you can see the character in the horn. The bolsters have tarnished a bit to take on a slight golden hue.

I have some terrific EDC knives that include a GEC executive Whitler, the Barlow forum knife, a Case Texas jack, my Keith Johnson sodbuster, Otter Messer sailor knife, and others. This ranks right up there with the best of them.

Anyone else have a love for the Gepetto Whitlers?

Hi Ed -

I really like he design - the split spring three blade design is really a nice work!

Mine is a bone-stag scale - it's a beauty!

Mine is in purple sage, a wharncliffe main, and is drop dead gorgeous. Only 6 like it were made. Unfortunately, it 's destiny is to be a safe queen.

The wrangler version with clip blade and punch won out in the end for me but it surprised me by how often it gets carried. Seeing as you are almost the only person to mention the Executive Whittler- my favourite GEC pattern- I am even more sure I would love a Gepetto.

Thanks for your thoughts.

That stag version is excellent looking!

Mine is number nine, but I am not sure of how many were in that run.

The executive whittler and the Gepetto are wonderful contrast. The Executive has the elegant slender slicing feel and the Gepetto is shorter and thicker. Great contrast in knives and both were executed very well.
