It is now 2024, and time for another photo contest giveaway. The rules are simple:

1. Please be an active member on the porch, let’s say 25 posts prior to entering the contest.
2. Post a picture that includes a traditional knife.
3. You may enter as many times as you like, but please limit your post to 1 picture per post so the votes can be properly accounted for. More than 1 picture per post will disqualify the post.
4. You may enter for another member, just say who you are entering for.
5. I will ship international as long as it is legal to do so.

There will be 2 knives in this giveaway. The winners will be decided 1st by the popular vote of the members of the porch. Whichever photo post receives the most “reactions” (likes, loves, etc) will be the 1st winner. A tie will be broken by most “wows” followed by most “loves.” So vote with your reactions.

The 2nd winner will be at my sole discretion based on whatever criteria I decide. Awesome knife, awesome background, humorous photo, whatever.

The winner of the popular vote will have their choice of the following knives:

The winner of my random judgement will receive the 2nd knife.

This competition will run through Sunday around noon EST. At this time I will count the votes and announce the winners.

Good luck and thanks for participating!

Thanks for the chance to participate! Super generous and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with for their pictures.

I’ll put in for one entry that I’ll title “80s Vintage”.

Thank you for the generosity it’s mate.

What a great opportunity to get creative. I don’t mind winning or not but it’s a good incentive to take a few fun photos. I’ll start with this one from last week.

Baby sparrow chick I found at work and took home.

Very geneous yet again.

I will post this one from yesterday, to my mind it has everything thats joyful.

A wonderful old English Barlow Lambs foot knife.

Beautiful views of the grounds of Blenheim palace with a river, ducks and other wildlife all around.

A nice drop of sunshine warming my weary limbs.

Best of I am walking where the great man Winston Churchill once walked himself from a child to a cigar smoking world leader.

The palace is named after the 1704 Battle of Blenheim. It was originally intended to be a reward to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough for his military triumphs against the French and Bavarians in the War of the Spanish Succession, culminating in the Battle of Blenheim. The land was given as a gift, and construction began in 1705, with some financial support from Queen Anne. The project soon became the subject of political infighting, with the Crown cancelling further financial support in 1712, Marlborough's three-year voluntary exile to the Continent, the fall from influence of his duchess, and lasting damage to the reputation of the architect Sir John Vanbrugh.

Designed in the rare, and short-lived, English Baroque style, architectural appreciation of the palace is as divided today as it was in the 1720s.[3] It is unique in its combined use as a family home, mausoleum and national monument. The palace is notable as the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill.

Great picture, but it is the history that is really incredible. I very much enjoyed reading through some of the history at the links you provided. The architecture and history in England has always amazed me. We just do not have history like that here.

Thank you for sharing.

You are very welcome,I am leaning more every day.So much history in just a 10 mile radius of where I live alone the whole country.
I love the fact that you can walk in the footsteps of kings and world famous people.
In some ways may inability to cover great distances is a bonus as I absorb all around me.

I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my peers for a shot at either prize.

To the OP, thanks for your generous contest.
