It is time for another photo contest, and GEC giveaway. The rules are simple:

1. Please be a participating member of the porch. Let’s say 25 posts to qualify.
2. To enter the contest, post a picture that you took.
3. The picture does not have to contain a knife, but if it does, it needs to be a traditional pattern.
4. One picture per entry. You may enter as many times as you like.
5. Like my last giveaway, the winner will be determined based on the number of “reactions” received on their post, so voting is by the porch members. If there is a tie, the winner will be the one with the most “loves,” followed by most “wows” if needed.
6. If you wish to enter for another member, please post their username in your submission.
7. International members are welcome to enter.

The prize: A new in tube GEC 562123EO in Natural Micarta.

Great to see you do this again! It was really fun the first time and an absolute blast seeing some amazing pictures. I’m in!

This first one will be the entry photo. Awesome knife, awesome place, awesome company! (Photos taken after this years GEC rendezvous just south of Titusville).

Very nice. I love the ebony and what looks like a 35?

I was carrying this Maher and Grosh 35 recently, but much prefer the blade options on yours, as I just don’t find myself using the pen blade secondary often.

What a great contest. I’m not in but I’ll submit this one for Jeremy sbh06 sbh06 . I know if it’s not a keeper he’ll move it along to another porch member.

Here’s a chunky GEC 72 and our girl Stella. Yard companion, terrorizer of cats, chaser of squirrels, and friend to everyone else.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and your weather is at least as nice as ours today.

We lost my favorite dog in 2010 and my kids and grand kids always thought I needed another one to keep me company . So I did get a pup in 2020 that now keeps me company and my great grand kids carry him around when ever they come . He is appropriately named Dusty .

Great stag on that one. We lost a pup this year, the pain will almost swear you off ever having another.

Wow! Great pictures. Completely different landscape than I have ever seen in person. Very nice use of light. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, appreciate it!
I used to work full time as a glacier guide, now I just freelance every now and then. All the photos are just shot with my phone whilst working.
Yeah, Iceland has some spectacular nature. It makes it hard to screw up a photo here haha.

Iceland is beautiful. Great photos!
Did you watch the 1972 World Championship Chess Match between Fischer and Spassky? Or meet Fischer when he was made a citizen?
Thanks!
Unfortunately I wasn't born back in 1972.
I never met Fischer either, he settled in a small and very boring town, Sellfoss, an hour or so away from Reykjavik. My ex-wifes father actually played Fischer a few times - or Fischer played against him and bunch of other players simultaneously.

Thanks Ellis Wyatt Ellis Wyatt for the chance to enter the GAW, I’ve been pretty curious about these recent 56s and would love to try one out, so I’ll be entering with my photo below of one of my favorite knives. This pocket carver is always along for the ride on camping trips because the kids love when I whittle little figurines for them to play with (until the promptly lose them) and one of my few knives where the spine has more patina than the flats of the blade.
