I lurk but seldom post in this forum, but did read many of the threads about GEC and was intrigued enough to search out a couple of their knives I'm interested in purchasing. My question is somewhere I read an interesting 'background' story about their Beaver Pond Bone...and it is driving me nutz that I can't find it or remember where I read it. I gave Great Eastern a call and asked Christine, but she couldn't say off hand (though will be nice enough to look around for me and will let me know when she finds something). Anybody able to help?
Thanks,
Steve

I am pretty sure it is just the name of the color.
I had the same question a while back. I hate it when my memory slips like that :(

I will post the link if I can find it :D

Dude,
Mike at Collectors Knives told me the same thing...just a name. Apparently I got it confused with the Primitive Bone material, which I believe has a story about being found after a long time abandoned or something like that.

That's it :D

The primitive bone (horse/cow?) was undergound for years.
I have seen some pictures of it. Some is smooth some cracked. Interesting.
