hello all, my girlfriend recently bought me a gec Huckleberry Boy's Knife and i was curious to why the blade has a C-cut out at the tip of the blade. is there a purpose to it? thank you all

Easy open notch . Pinch blade between index and thumb instead of using the pull.

Thank you very much and i kind of figured but you never know with these traditional knives.

I think what you have is a one-hand open knife. You hook that cutout on the top of your pocket to affix the blade and use leverage to open the knife.

hopefully this works but this is the knife i got.

I believe the knife was invented for those who happened to have only one limb, placing the cutout at the edge of the pocket and pulling in a downward fashion the blade would open. not having a second hand to pull the blade open.
A pre Emerson wave feature if you will.
enjoy

I've never thought about the Emerson wave being tied to this style blade. Interesting concept.
