I just received this 73 and can't figure out its identity. I'm hoping one of you fine members can help.
The tang stamp is 735108. The blade has the GEC logo and the shield is an acorn. To me that means it's a SS stag.
The tube ID sticker is 735108EC Burnt Stag. That's ok so far. If you check out the GEC site for the 2008 production numbers the only SS 735108 knives appear to be American Elk serialized which this isn't. I'm really confused.

Alan, their record keeping for the first few years was not 100%. Looks completely genuine to me, they just didn't get the production totals recorded for that run.
 
Could it be a 'clean up' or 'parts knife'? They do issue some oddballs here and there using up excess parts from other runs. Even a year or two later in some cases. Don't know that applies to your knife, just speculating.
 
Thanks guys. I wasn't worried about it being real. I emailed Chris, she should know if anyone does.
