GEC Knife identification.....

This may or may not be the proper place to post this question, but here goes... I purchased a GEC Northfield 488217 knife that has "SY?OOT ?" (best guess) as the last word on the tube end cap. (Writing looks similar to the GEC description) Does this have some meaning or is it just junk/irrelevant? Thanks!

Doesn’t look like it’s written from the factory. Probably a dealer or collector noting a smoother stag finish.
