I love this little knife, based on the GEC 14 pattern. And being a Buffalo native, I dug the buffalo shield. Until it fell out. This little sucker was glued in. Easy fix with some crazy glue, but I was surprised given this was a GEC made knife.
As an SFO, the buyer can specify certain characteristics that they want. Many of the early stainless SFOs were made with 420HC instead of the costlier 440C of the GEC branded knives. I would guess the buyer wanted to save the cost of a pinned shield.
Thanks, Railsplitter. That makes sense. I guess I was just initially shocked. Never thought I would see a glued shield on a GEC. SFO angle explains a lot.
