I received this "Factory Test Production Run" GEC NF Orange Crush Whittler (541308W) yesterday. It is a 3-spring knife with a closed 4 1/8" length. The clip blade has a long pull and is 3" long. All blades have 1/2-stops. The cover material is Orange Crush Perylic. The effort to open the clip blade is a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 while the effort to open the spey blade and pen blade rates between 6 and 7 on the same scale. I took the photos in direct sunlight in order to show that the covers are somewhat translucent.

I don't think there's any big deal about the knife being a "Factory Test Production Run" knife. The dealer still has at least one for sale so, who knows how many were made.

GEC's Production Total list for 2008 shows that a total of 20 541308W Orange Crush Perylic knives were made but the Certificate of Authentication that came with the knife shows that 21 of these knives were made. Go figure.

That's a beauty, Ed. I've got four of those #54 whittlers, 2 each in Tidioute and Northfield, and they are great.

The orange crush might be the prettiest of the bunch, and one I don't have. As they say, "That one has all the patents."
Pinched, slanted, lined and serialized bolsters, long pull, cut swedge, half-stops . . . and BLING! I like it a LOT!

Thanks Jeff. The Orange Crush really popped out at me. It does have pretty much all the bells & whistles that GEC puts on their knives. It is pretty big what with 3-springs but still manageable in the pocket.
