Hey guys, my buddy Tyler had a GEC (Tyler if you see this chime in!) knife that had orange and black swirly acrylic covers.

I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find any GEC knives with these. Can somebody tell me what it is/was called? Also, which patterns were (are?) available with this acrylic?

I'm seriously worried that I got into traditionals just a bit too late and missed the knives that are wearing my favorite two colors. :(

Its called pumpkin acrylic and doesnt show up alot but does come up every now and then in the 66 pattern

I think it was called Pumpkin Patch. Pics in this thread. You can check the production totals on GEC's site to see what patterns it was used on. Fall Harvest appears to be another name used.

The one on the left is a #53 Cuban Stockman in Fall Harvest Acrylic. They made only 17 of these in 2007.
Middle knife is in Lava Lamp Acrylic, and the right one is in Kryptonite Acrylic, both from 2008.

The culprit! It's called pumpkin patch acrylic, although unfortunately for some maybe, this knife is no longer dressed in acrylic and is currently undergoing surgery.

Hey man, thanks for that. It's a shame ( :p ) , BUT I'm glad you're happy. I know it wasn't really for you.

Thanks to everyone else too, you guys are very helpful. Maybe I'll grab one one day. Those cubans look amazing!

Ugh I shouldn't have asked... Just found this-

Edit- sorry, I didn't realize the vendors name was in the pic. I was blinded by the knife! :o

An 07 Northfield Muskrat

Next time I'll have the funds before I go looking! :D

I've been after PP myself, and now there's one less 66 to choose from....

An alternative that might also light your fire is GEC's faux tortoise, really beautiful gear.

Thanks, Will

The photo just not do justice to the covers on this knife:

I got it awhile ago, after an all out couple month long search. Trouble is, I like it so much sometimes I'm afraid to carry it lest I mess it all up  But I usually do anyway, the acrylic is tough stuff, and deep. I have never seen anything like it, though I don't have much experience with other synthetics, like celluloid.

Cheers,
Griff
