I just bought a used #42 Missouri Trader on the exchange a couple of weeks ago. Awesome knife and my first nice traditional. I noticed something odd though.
The certificate of authenticity says the serial number is 7 of 25. The knife itself has a 7 engraved on the shield side bolster.
However, the blade also has "1 of 25" etched on the non shield side of the blade. These two numbers don't match...or do they refer to different things? It doesn't make sense to me and I'm curious if there's a simple answer for it.
The knife is great itself....good condition and I'm really happy with it. It's a user, I'm not worried about it being perfect. And the numbers don't effect it's useability. I'm still curious though. Thoughts?
