This may be my first posting in Traditional Folders.
* Yesterday,I ordered (by snail mail) a #73 in wood with LINER LOCK. Since this is my first experence with Great Eastern my question is about handle thickness. IS A LINER LOCK MUCH MORE THICKER THAN THE NON-LOCK? Thinking of pocket comfort here.:)

Looking forward to the 1095 steel.

Yes, but it's very minimal. The Linerlock spring rides right along the backspring and adds a wee bit more thickness, but nothing too great.
I think for that slight added thickness, you get a knife that is a little safer when working on a tougher job. I love my #73L and wouldn't trade it for any other GEC, or knife for that matter.

I wouldn't say "MUCH MORE THICKER", only about the thickness of one of the brass liners. The #73 is still essentially a slip joint, half stop and all, but with an added tab liner to help prevent unwanted closing of the blade.

I wouldn't worry about it. It is only a single blade knife, so you will probably enjoy that extra thickness.

Welcome to the "GEC club", and be sure to post a report with photos soon after you receive it.
