Picked this one up last week. Black delrin handles with "red neck" stamped on the pivot.
Sorry about the picture not being very good, light was bad and I should have wiped the oil off the blade, makes the etch look smudged.

I haven't seen the black with redneck stamped on them, that's might be a rare find!

My first Bullnose was the black version. Bought it off the exchange and the Bullnose etch had been removed and had a nice patina. The day I got it I ran over it with my truck on accident and all it did was scuff one side up a bit. After an hour of sanding the scuffs out of the Delrin it was back to new and being used again. Later that week it bit me real good in the thumb and I probably needed stitches but I just wrapped it up good. I guess you could say she settled the score so to speak:D We've been on good terms ever since with a mutual respect for each other. I now own two black, two of the original orange test runs versions and two of the newer orange versions. Great knives, congrats on your new addition!

Do you know if this was a buildout from leftover parts?

I don't know for sure but I suspect this knife was built from left over parts. The blade has the GEC stamp and not the Red Neck Farm Tool stamp that the new ones have. It also came in the same tube that the previous edition was issued in.

Thanx pistonsandgears, it's not an uncommon practice in the knife mfg. world to do this...
