Has GEC gone back to doing SFO’s? The BF knife, AAPK knife and the Northwoods make me want to think they are back, anyone heard different?

I forgot where I saw this but apparently they consider Northwoods knives a private label, which is different from an SFO. Then you have the Smith & Sons Mudbug, which is considered an SFO since S&S have posted that GEC will no longer make. I don't know where the forums knives fall in terms of classification. I don't think anyone really knows and I wish GEC would just define exactly what and SFO is.

I believe the forum knives fall under the "Club Knives" classification, which they are still doing.

Lots and I mean lots of talk about this over in the "Let's Talk GEC" thread.

Plenty of discussion here too.

Of course we could keep

There’s not much clarity to be had on the subject as I understand it.

Apparently, club knives are an exception as they really aren’t considered an SFO.

The Northwoods is definitely an SFO if that term has any meaning. And I think it’s telling that the knives released are 23s… the last run to feature SFOs (such as Mike’s mesquite 23s, the Kifer ones, etc.)

Why it’s taken the Northwoods knives a year to be released for sale? I have no idea. Ask KSF?

They never said that they were going to stop altogether and they been steadily putting SFOs out since the Covid shutdown, just much smaller numbers. and options.
