Hey Guys,

This knife really caught my eye today. My only gripe with jackknives is that when one blade is open, the corner of the other blade sticks into my finger. It's uncomfortable. Pen knife patterns don't have this problem. But I don't like flipping a knife over to get the other blade :o Solution? Single Blade Barlow Comfortable in hand and pocket

Does any have this pattern? How thick is the knife handle? How does it ride in the pocket? Thanks for everything.

God Bless

I don't have that exact pattern, but it's very similar to the EZ opens. They're nice and thin, while still being beefy enough for tough work, and they ride great in the pocket. It's a perfect "watch pocket" knife. I think one of those would be an excellent choice.

I was thinking that too. It would be the bee's knees if someone had an in hand pic of the top shot of the knife.

God Bless

I have the Patriot acrylic Barlow, it's the 2 blade version. It's roughly 3" long, 1-1/8" wide (closed) from the top of the blade and 5/8" thick. I like the idea of 1 clip blade for the reasons you mention. The Barlow is a good pocketable size and GEC makes a quality knife. For some reason, I really like those acrylic scales. They seem tough and they are very unique.

How much thinner is the single blade #25 barlow to the two bladed #25 jacks?

That's what I want to know. If it's too thin, it would hard to get a good grip. I would think that the scales should be thicker than the #25 to compensate for the loss of a liner and blade.

God Bless:foot:

Hey look, I can take a picture almost as good as kidwholaughs ;)

There are also spear blade models and EZ-Open models. Very good selection from our friends in Titusville.

I do not have the pattern (yet)
But I did buy a Congress from Mike (nice man) in Burnt Orange.
The color of the second knife from top.
Much prettier in person than in pic.
Very happy with my purchase.

Hey Mike,

How thick are the handles on single jacks, maybe as thick as a Case Sodbuster Jr. I am looking for a good grip on that knife. The other question is, do it ride well in the pocket?

God Bless

473/1000ths on the Burnt Orange I just measured. They ride nearly unnoticed, but at 3" x 1/2" you are not going to want to get in a knife fight with one ;)

That Burnt Orange is a very attractive handle option, I know as I have the single blade Scout in it,very slim too.

With double bladed Jacks or Barlows I prefer having the nail nicks on the same side rather than having to turn the knife over. Many others like this though.

You don't turn the knife. I just use my index finger nail.

I just ordered a single bladed GEC barlow last week, waiting for international shipping sucks :(.
