I've just recently gotten interested in traditionals, and I'm now searching for a new EDC. I recently picked up a GEC Beagle. I really like it, but I'd like to supplement it with something a little larger. I'm considering a Beer Scout, so I was wondering if anyone could share some photos comparing a #15 to a #18 (preferably a Beagle and a Beer Scout), showing differences in thickness and length. Thanks!

Snapped a quick pic of mine. The beerscout is considerably larger in every dimension. On a side note, I highly reccomend the draft beer acrylic. It has a beutiful sort of sparkle and glow that doesn't show up on camera. It's my first acrylic and I definitely plan on getting more now.

No pic I'm afraid. But there is a considerable difference in weight, thickness and bulk between the 2 patterns . I have a Coyote 18 which is a very small lightweight knife (too small for my taste actually) Single blade 15s are quite slim but the Beer Scout is naturally bigger having 2 springs and a bail. Its blades are very different too: Sheepfoot/Crown lifter screwdriver. With Traditional patterns, even a few mms let alone centimetre or inch in dimensions make a HUGE difference, a 3" is radically smaller than a 3.5", might not sound much, but it is.

Hope this gives you something to chew on, whatever 15 you choose it's a fine carry.

Regards, Will
