these new slimline trappers should satisfy members desiring gecs with less robust construction. although they are well built the dimensions are scaled down for edcing in slacks or kakhais. gec 1095 rocks out at 58 & i find diamonds make sharpening much easier. they are'nt dull as a brick but close.the pair are northfields with mirror finish on the burnt stag & satin finish on the crushed seashell acrylic.

sorry guys i'm trying to show the fantastic swedges on the trappers however my pics are not clear.the length of those swedges really accent the gracefulness of the blades. maybe i'll live long enough to make decent photos. thanks for your patience. dennis

Dennis, do they have half stops? it looks like they don't. again, the stag is beautiful.

Your pictures are actually rather good! Better than my non pictures....

You've done a series of very interesting 'exhibitions' of GEC knives Dennis, anybody being unsure about models will have gained a lot from them. These Trappers look very well put together, in fact, I'd go out on a limb and say GEC are offering the best production made Traditional pocket knife at the moment. Very good build quality, super range of scales-interesting acrylic interpretations, fine bone&wood and the best non custom stag. Need anything else?

Yup...Dennis has been making us all drool to be sure.

Shhh!!! We don't want everybody to start buying them all up! ;)

Need anything else?

More $$$ to buy more GECs. :D

X2 on the work Dennis is doing willgoy. I think you're on to something about GEC being on top right now.

steelsnob i gave all my 2 blade 23 trappers away but here are the dimensions on the clip blades from a standard 23 & the new trapper.i do'nt use a caliper often but what i obtained was:23 at 103/1000s & 081/1000s for the slim trapper. now it's time for some humor "what is a half stop".

Dennis, those trappers came in pretty dull huh? That's strange, mine was exceedingly sharp out of the tube. Mine was marked "Prototype" though so maybe that gave it a little more effort than the production run.

I traded for two bladed 23 a while back, and at first I didn't really care for it.

But the longer I keep it, the more it grows on me. I don't really like the scales, which are Red Barnboard bone, but I sure like the way it cuts.

And it is one stout son of a gun.

Very nice Dennis. I like both of them but the Stag on the one really makes it stand out.

That's where you half way stop buying another GEC, then decide, "Screw it, you only live once", and go ahead and buy the new knife. ;)

I like the way you think, son! :p
