tractor green stock whitt---mammoth ivory cattle stock--& rams horn stock.

closer look at the mammoth
stock whitt has 3 back springs & i believe this is all the stock styles offered by gec. members will notice that all fans of stock patterns may find a pattern desirable for the job.---dennis

Very nice.
I find the variations in the clip blade shapes very interesting. Would that one on the right qualify as a "California Clip" shape?

Yeah, that one definitely looks like it should be on a muskrat or toothpick compared to what we normally think of for a stockman's clip blade. But then GEC is never shy about doing something different.

GEC calls the slender clip on their Cuban stockman a muskrat clip. All three patterns are on the 4-1/8" equal end frame.

as usual mamba has certainly got his technical info correct.most individuals will find that length to be idea for a working knife. of course mamba & i are lucky to have larger game animals to pursue so we like the pioneer at 4.5 in. to skin deer & larger animals.--dennis

Those three give a good variety of handles and in patterns is as good as it gets, least ways for me!

Exactly:thumbup:

Green is a favourite of mine, the slant bolsters really show off the knife. The ivory is from another planet:D Ram's horn looks like delicious jigged toffee! Who says working knives must be dull??? I don't!

hey denis, got pics of a cattle baron BTW? know you have
maybe with a cattle rancher? getting the baron and have the rancher, was wondering hom much different they are really

thanks man
maxx

cattle rancher is the standard heavy duty stock but the cattle baron is identical with the punch added. punches are the only gec i do'nt purchase. i sure could have used the punch in 40s & 50s.--dennis

Here's a closeup of my cattle baron. I like the fact that it has 3 of the 4 blades with right hand nail nicks. Only the spey does not.

thanks guys!

do the blades stick out a bit when you have only the clip out? on the rancher the sheepfoot disturbs "a bit" as it sits pretty high

thanks

Here's a pic with all the blades closed. It sticks up a little bit but I don't feel the sheepsfoot blade sticking up as much as with other stockman.

I have a cuban stockman in snakewood. It's purty!

 Yup :)

thanks! good news, as I think i'll use the baron as it is orange bone and slimmer than the rancher, while the rancher is stag and pretty hefty so I'm not currently carrying it, just playing with

what model is it? can't seem to recognize it, looks verty nice

Mine is a Cuban Stockman, like the rightmost one in Dennis' pic. I don't have a rancher or baron myself.

Dennis,

Thank you for the great show.

Each one of your three beautiful knives has its own special enticing character. The Ivory is stunning, but the tractor green jigging is perfectly set-off by the Bolsters.

Thanks again to you and all of the Members for your wonderful pics of great knives.

I cannot own them all but it sure is nice to be able to see them.

nice stockman!, maybe "the king" of the productions stocks?
same clip as my #53 furtaker, awesome slicer, very thin
