Hi everyone,
This morning had a very good start to it indeed!
There was a knock on the door, and a package was delivered to me that had arrived the Friday before..but was by mistake delivered to the gent over the road...( he forgot about it untill this morning  )...anyway...a long wish has been granted, and look what was inside when I opened up this box!!

First before anything...thank you, thank you ..I would like to thank the forum member who sent this to me and just simply blew me away...I would very much like to name him.... he knows who he is...and Sir...thank you...I most sincerely mean that.
This forum is without a doubt one of the beter things in life that I have come across...things that teach a person what it feels like to be humble, seeing others help their fellow collectors out with advice...and a continuous slight ribbing makes this very much ....the better place to be.

Folks....I would like to introduce to you my awesmome GEC Serpitine Jack
After sitting down a bit overwhelmed...heres what I took in...check it out..:)

After seeing everyone showing us their new GEC'S...I knew...I just knew that these knives would be this good...oh man...thank you again to this very generous forum member....

The Stag on this knife is simply beautifull..the fit is nothing short of supurb...NO gaps, the feel between those lovely Bolsters and Stag is a continuous smooth flow........

Choice of Stag just couldnt be better, Stag... then burnt gives you this ....

As you can see...the thickness of the Stag ( to me ) is great...nice and thick..yet this knife feels so good in the hand..

Here is another shot, I like the Jack's blades...this knife is the un-serialed model, Carbon blades...a little stiff to use - as it should be ( yet no nail snapping )..so very nice, and of course...the use will soften this from being real nice to awesome! , the more use this knife has had just today...already the snap is crisper!! ( or is that just me?)

I realy like those Bolsters...whats the name for these? - as they are beveled at the end, threaded & angled...a real smooth knife....

Picture007-2.jpg

One last shot in the garden before it got to work in my kitchen....
Cutting up of the apple wasted no time in working on the blades...I didnt let it sink in too much...there will be plenty of that later.

If you are thinking of getting a GEC...I cannot find one reason as to why you shouldnt...this knife is a keeper, and Im hoping that my grandson will look at me fooling around one day ( I havent got a grandson yet-but my daughters think Im slightly spastic the way I drool over knives ) and I will see a glimmer in his eye when he sees me me handling this very knife!
Take care everyone, and thank you for putting up with my rave :D

I'd be happy with that one too Duncan.

Looks terrific and a great pattern too  Its sure a good thing your neighbor is honest. If he knew what was inside, you may not have gotten it

Very nice discovery that:thumbup: The slanted and pinched-threaded bolsters give a fine presence to the knife.

Good to see it on a backdrop of spring greenery, lucky you on the other side of the world. Here in Scandinavia, it's dark most of the day and sleeting:eek:

great photos & what a knife. looks like a great taskmaster.this is one of the only patterns i do'nt have in stag. looks like i will correct that after seeing the great pics of your knife, congradulations.

I think GEC does really good work when fitting the stag to the knife. Better than Case, Puma, and some others. That's a great looking knife. - Ed

Glad you like it, Duncan!
I'll confess - it was me!
Duncan sold me a beauty of an antique knife, quite a while back.
Then, in a recent thread, something about "your used GEC" he complained he didn't have one yet.
GEC erred in sending me an order. They sent me too many knives!
This one was an extra in the box.
When I reported back to them, they practically gave me the knife (for my "honesty" - good thing they didn't accidently send me a million bucks - it'd be a tougher choice!)
Anyway, it's tough shopping for U.S. knives from New Zealand. Distance, shipping, customs; it can be a huge pain.
I thought I'd return a past favor, and surprise one of our good friends!

Charlie, you're a true gentleman! What a generous gesture.

Congrats to Duncan and Charlie - I'm sure the knives sold/gifted between you will always be special.

Well..there you go folks...we quite often see Charlie helping out so much, and always supply us with photos of his stunning knives, one of the most respected members here..along with so many others....and he still does this sort of thing....
Thats what I meant about this forum.... especially for someone like me who wants to...but cannot help others with their questions on help with their knives - because I just dont have that knowledge on a wide range of these stunning folders we own.....quite often...when I see a question, I will try and research it...but it comes down to personal experience that mostly answers our questions here.

so thank you Charlie..on behalf of all our members here...as others will benifit from this-as I first dicovered through Roland....generous giveaways blow the reciever away...but it actually feels just as good-if not better to do the giving away...( watch this space...I have a plan hehehe )

Answers to;
Dennis....thank you for always showing us your gec's Dennis - man...your selection ALWAYS blows me away...as Im sure it does others as well....as for this model...wow, I have a few folders now...not all of this calibre...this one....it feels so good in the hand..., a bit of weight with it-I like that-I dont know if you do?...but the making, and fit of this knife ...Im sure would please you....let us know when you get it please...your review will be anticipated!!

Ed...thanks mate-I always appreciate your comments, I think with this one you are bang on..the Stag and fit of that stag is supurb!!

Willgoy....thank you for the Bolster description...first time I had them-very cool!

Kieth...you are so correct, the first gifted knife I have is now with my partner...she is just not into knives...BUT...she likes the colour of the bone....and Roland did that for me...its good to see Sue with a knife...
Also the gifted knife does obtain something more special...thats why they are keepers...they wont stray out of sight!! ever.

Very pretty knife Duncan

Any chance of an in-hand snap? Haven't been able to get my head around the scale of these ones :)

Here's to you being able to one day hand it down to a knifeknut grandson! That's a nice quality knife.

And Charlie is showing his true colors again.
