1- has anyone handled or owned his work? what is the quality/cost?
2- does anyone know how to contact him?
i have a slipjoint of his on its way in the mail from the secondary market. here are the few photos of his work i could find online, they are all fixed blades.
also i found that he was in knifeworld if anyone has backissues i would be very interested in seeing a scan of what was written?
it dates from july 1992 page 9 written by B.R hughes according to my research.
here are some pics, i will post more about the knife when it is recieved.
thank you for your time.

Unfortunetly, George is no longer alive. He passed away last year by way of heart attack I believe.

wow, thank you jonny for the information. he clearly did beautiful work. i would love to see more of it...

I have been collecting his knives for some time.,His prolific, and beautiful work covered the spectrum of knife styles.,My favorite "GEK",is a mini-sword I rchased here from another member, but i also have several other examples of his fine work.,He passed away of a heart attack in 2003,in LaGrange OH.,You can get the issue with Hughes's article by getting in touch with Knife world.,they were very helpfull, and sent it along for 5 bucks

Say Heah Guys,
I met George as a patient of mine ( optical ),,,one sunday after a progressive seminar I thought I'd catch some of the Gun and Knife show,,,,I was late for the show,,,as I couldn't get in,,, George greeted me,,,and that's how I got a G E K,,,the diamond around the initials and on the sheath also,,,its a beaut,,,1/4" thick, 4" blade,,, micarta scales brass pins out of a screw-in pins,,,but the blending of the grind is a piece of art,,,gorgeous,,its a modified hollow grind then into a flat grind but beautifully done,,,-------;n so happy others had a chance to appreciate His work.
Paul but my friends calle;ne Paulie.

Hello,
I have a question, the person that has the photos of the G.E.K. knives, do any of the knives have a stamp on the opposite side of the G.E.K. has a stamp of S.S. on it, I don't think it stands for Stainless Steel but I don't know what its for. Can anyone help?
Paul

I've got several GEK's.Some, but not all,are stamped on the opposite side with the steel type. The #1 fighter,is stamped,D2,as one example.Am going out on a limb with,"Thats a Stainless steel stamp"

I don't know if this will ever get to you sir. And its been years since you posted, and that I've actually looked. I am the grandson of George Koutsopoulos and I have in detail, seen, felt, held, and helped to make many of the knives that he's made over the years and if you'd like and if possible I could send you some pictures of some of his knives.

I am the niece of George Koutsopoulos and I was wondering if you knew of a way that I could purchase his knives?

You can find George's knives at the gun shows Medina I found them in Orville most of the Ohio ones maybe Berea would have them just have to look around at the gun shows that's where they would be I was a friend of George's and I have a bunch of his knives

You probably will not find anything that's newer than 2000 most of the knives he produced we had bought his miniature knife collection some jewelry and its tactical knives that he made

I don’t live in Ohio, I live in Oregon. Would you be willing to sell any of your knives, or do you know of anyone who would?

I think I might have one of his earlier knives... Came across it at a garage sale...I don't know how to put a pic on here..it says " made by Geo. Koutsopoulo Elyria Ohio". And the initials are just GK with a oval around them..
