Gelbu Special by Sanu. Barely a blem for $95.

As you can see from the picture there is not much wrong with this Gelbu special. It is unmarked (that is one thing wrong) but the work looks like Sanu to me. The second thing wrong is a small crack, about 1/2 inch, near the bolster. Super glue will fix it. Fit, finish, hardness all very, very good. Karda and chakma are good. Karda is fullered and well hardened with a striped gray horn handle, a knife unto itself. The scabbard is pretty decent but there is a small gap between the stitching on the back which should not be bothersome.

Price for this barely-a-blem by Sanu is $95 delivered to your door.

Length is 18.5" and weight is about 1.75 lbs.

I'm impatient already! I'm surprised that I saw that one before it was gone, that's the first time I've had that happen. Thanks again Uncle Bill, now I guess I'll have to combat HIKV for the rest of my life! Oh well, I can think of worse things...

That's just mean. Thanks for the warning Kozak, but it's a little late now. Like Jim said though, we're not really infected, just a mild case is all.

Fact: there is no such thing as a mild case of HIKV. It is one of the most insideous, vile, cruel, seductive addictions known to knife knuts. Just when you think you've got it under control...BOOM...there you are at the post office picking up another khukuri.

No Kozak, I've actually got a secret weapon to help me resist buying more khukuris in the near future. It's an empty bank account! For long term protection I've got a nice reliable car. Reliable in that it reliably breaks down about once every 2 months. That should keep the funds low enough to resist more of Uncle Bill's special offers.
