Gelbu Special by Sanu. Save $55. Pix and bargain time.

Here is a very decent Gelbu Special made and marked by Sanu. 18 inches and weighs just under two pounds. Fit and finish are very good, typical of Sanu. Hardness is about 58 Rc in chopping area. Karda and chakma are very good -- notice the fullered karda. The scabbard is okay but it has been patched in a couple of places with wax. I've told the sarkis not to do this. One of these days they will listen after BirGorkha has suffered enough financially.

So, what's wrong with the rig besides the scabbard? The handle shows grain lines which may or may not develop into cracks. They have not yet.

The price for this Gelbu with grain lines and a little wax on the scabbard is $95 -- $55 off regular.

That is a very nice knife! I keep telling myself that my next khukuri will be an 18" AK, but some of these GSs have been swinging me over in that direction. Beautiful.
