Its a far stretch, but are there any gemologists or jewelers on here? I would like to ask a few questions about a piece of jewellery that I just got handed down to me on my 25th birthday. It has been in the family for at least 100 years (probably way longer), and I want to know who I can go to to get the item cleaned up and what they can do about the stone (wear and tear from being worn). If you are on here, let me know, I just dont want to walk into a jewelery store and trust someone who doesnt know what theyre doing. I would like to walk in with some knowledge first.
