....say hello to my little friend....
months and months and months ago, a couple folks independently asked what i thought about a 36-inch walking stick hawk.
so i thought about it, and thought about all the trouble i could get into with one of those, so i said,
"good idea, brother!"
i've been working on this one a long time, and a lot of love went into it.
....this one was started before i went to the Gen 1 Mk 3 Design, but with the bolts embedded in both ends, it is practically the same strength-wise to the Mk 3's.
unlike any other hawk, this one has two of the trademark Gen 1 Mk 2 Internal Molar Strike Plates, one on each end! and embedded metal inserts, to secure the bolts that act as walking feet or tool attachment points.
close-up of the head, with overall length indicated.
that's a lot of hawk. - and i think i am in love - it's light weight carries really nicely, and the added length makes a fine field stick while keeping the hawk good at what hawks do best....
hermetically-sealed 3/8" bolt is heavy-duty enough to work hard, but low-mass enough to not add undue weight to the hawk.
metal inserts are embedded 1/2" - about 2" throughout the head and neck.
close-up of Strike Plate area under head, which continues all the way down the handle, wrapped in Crye Precision's 1000 Denier Real Cordura MultiCam, and secured with Girder Joint (black line).
i dare ya to make fun of my outfit - har!
i hope this one, and the next couple ones that are on order, make some brothers very happy.
i really have enjoyed handling this hawk.
thanks for looking.
