Investors,

We got the Cold Steel heads in last week and they look pretty good after close inspection. i never would have started the humble Hawk Project if i ever believed that good Cold Steel heads would be hard to come by, but that's exactly what happened, which set us back nearly a year.

we used that time to develop a better handle; the Gen 1 Mk 4.

all i can say is, i love it.

anyways -

sorry to have been away, i've been getting ready for this big push to get all you custom brethren done.

also unfortunately, we have had a run of crippling refund runs the last two weeks, so we are stretched thin - we are praying that it won't matter as we stocked up on raw materials enough to do us for a while, plus we have a lot of the new heads - anyone who has ordered from us is in better than good hands - things are just coming to a little bit of a head.

we also have some Materials Hawks IGH Gen 1 Mk 4 handles coming up for sale to make some money for shipping the other hawks out that are currently curing, plus expenses, etc..

the Gen 1 Mk 4's are vastly superior to their honorable predecessors, the Gen 1 Mk 1's, 2's, and 3's.

.......

another issue we've been having - this forum used to send me heads-ups when i got a PM, etc. via E-Mail - now it does not for some reason and i missed alot of correspondence - to those of you who think i was ignoring you, please accept my profound apologies. - i just found that out, and it's a real kick in the crotch to us.

if you need to get a hold of us, we take pride in answering quickly; if you look there is an e-mail link right in the signature of this post below;

sorry for any inconvenience.

........

more news; we were invited to the SHOT SHOW last January by TOPS Knives / Mike Fuller and we spent the week back there in Orlando, Florida with that crew; Mr. Fuller is working on a vectorized version of their FAST Axe, which folks who like long knives and machetes might appreciate. - we are going to do a test run on about a hundred units first, and Mr. Fuller indicated that it was okay to tell our investors that TOPS will extend some discounts to our Investors.

we are just waiting on those FAST AXE mods and we will keep ya posted.

..............

let me nail down some hawks and i will post some Gen 1 Mk 4 teaser pictures shortly.

thanks for your patience, i think it will be worth it.

i will be in the Hawk Dungeon, practicing getting kicked in the crotch meanwhile...:thumbup:....

thanks, brother dust'.

here's a quick glimpse of some hawks that are about done curing.

'a bunch more coming.

all these hawks are based on the new Gen 1 Mk 4 Composite Handle.

pictured (center) are the expansion nuts that i am using to plug the 1/2-inch diameter internal storage areas of each hawk - they work great with fingers as is, but we are going to retrofit them ASAP - the hawks are airtight with them in - one of the nice things about them is you can get them anywhere that hardware is sold.

i surprised myself on this double-bit Marbles Nessmuck Hatchet (pictured, left side) - i should have gotten a shot of the crown - it is absolutely art-worthy. - but this little baby is a workhorse, i can see why Sears liked his - it's a good idea. one side was "Sweeter" than the other bit, so i aligned that one on the Strike Plate side of the handle, which is great for hard impacts when it comes to hand feedback - and the other side will do well to be honed to scalpel sharpness IMHO, where the Strike Plate will then allow a brother to butcher and even whittle with this thing with a lot of control and precision.

i think i am hooked on the lightweight composite-handled double-bit.

all these Gen 1 Mk 4's have Snakeskins except for the Multicam Norse Hawk, which has a 1000 Denier Real Cordura Crye Precision skin. we are offering all the Investors that have not received their hawks our new Snakeskinned handles, which here all feature our new Snakebelly smooth Strike Plate PLUS another feature we have not debuted yet - removable 1000 Denier Cordura Jackets, so you can have an even more bomb-proof hawk than before, but now you can wash it, change it's color, to match the field conditions (think: black/Multicam/Hunter Orange, for example, brethren). or just leave it off.

i think it's an idea with merit. maybe you do too. worth the wait IMHO. - this is how we thank our Investors - they took care of us, and we will return the favor manifold.

as you can see (above) we are expanding to hatchets, belt axes, etc. - the one above on the right hand side has a Gator Skin epoxy coat on it that looks ugly on camera and beautiful in person. - but it isn't its looks that i am concerned about - the roughness causes less friction in wood splitting, and last nicely. - i know that goes against common chopping wisdom probably - it works better than the exact axe without the wrinkle coat, is all i can say.... - this hatchet also has some matte sprayed on it which looks great in person too, but i like the Heirloom Faux Cherry Wood hawks shiney better - classier or something, i dunno. - the matte black ones are super sexy though....

.........

the hawk below is kind of special, in more ways than i will mention here.

besides handling beautifully, and being gorgeous (to me at least), this hawk has an option on it that the Investor that ordered it might like; double top and bottom entries - pop both plugs in a jurisdiction that allows it, and you also have a Blow Gun or a pipe tube or straw - we have an idea of a super-hard-hitting, fast-reloading blow-gun hawk that we will sell later.

Would you please identify the hawk on the very right? That one looks right handy. Thanks

Nice Work Vec, Your Hawk's with the Composit Handle the GEN 1 MK 4 are Nice ! I really like The Gator Skin Epoxy Coat and that Camo Norse Hawk "There All Beautiful !" And the Blowgun Idea Is a goodun, Thank's for all the Info. & picture's,

It does look like it, though the Fort Turner doesn't have the ears on the sides so I'm thinking it's something else...

That one looks like a Fort Turner Pole Hawk to me.

i don't know what that one is - i'll find out, it was a gift from one of the Investors that sent another one for us to vectorize. that brother is very discerning, and it split my thumb wide open with just a graze, so needless to say, i am kind of a fan :D:thumbup:....

i really love the Fiskars Camp Axe, maybe some of you brethren do too - this one feels like one of those, with a few added attributes and tweaked balance.

it's a Gen 1 Mk 4 like the others, with an adapter section for the eye, like the Modified Moosetrax Forge behind it.
