As a Spyderco enthusiast, collector and user, I was able to pick up what I believe is such a cool Gen 1 Spyderco Native. It’s new in box condition and it has to be one of the coolest finds I’ve had in a while.

I believe it’s a Gen 1 made between 97-99 with GIN-1 steel. Chisel ground edge. Super smooth, no blade play at all and perfectly centered. Love the look and design of the swedge too! The jimping is significantly more aggressive than recent models and I love it.

Anyone else have early Native models or more information on mine, please feel free to share! Sal Glesser Sal Glesser

Congrats!!! 👏👏👏

Now you can either say "one & done" or embark on a quest to "complete' your Native collection.

Here's a pic of mine, which only includes the basic variations for Gens 1-3, the single variation of Gen 4 & just a few of the countless variations of Gen 5:

Native I Black FRN PE GIN1
Native I Black FRN PS GIN1
Native 2 S/S PE AUS10
Native 2 S/S PS AUS10
Native 3 Black FRN PE VG10
Native 3 Black FRN PS VG10

From top to bottom:

Native 4 Smooth CF PE VG10
Native 5 Black G10 PE S35VN
Native 5 Fluted CF PE S90V
Native 5 Fluted Ti PE S35VN

The hardest one for me to find was the Gen 4. The Gen 4 is when they switched from the swedge to the flat blade.

Good luck!!!

PS: If you want a PE Gen 2 & a PE Gen 3 user w/o boxes, PM me & I'll send you pics. I'll let them go really cheap as a pair.
