Just got my gen 2 0550 and it's everything I hoped it would be. Rigid as hell, and a great design. Upon further inspection I noticed a very small gap between the stand off at the very rear of the knife and in between the liner. The gap is only visable if you put a light behind and you can see light through. The standoffs have shoulders that fit into a hole cut into the liner, and the titanium side.

I took the knife down and was able to see that the hole in the liner at the rear of the knife (for the stand off) is slightly smaller in diameter than the other holes for the stand offs. I tried putting a different stand off in the liner hole and it's very snug to the point of none of the three stand offs being able to fit flush.

Any thoughts? It does not affect the functionality of the knife but I am a perfectionist.

Called Kershaw...they are taking care of it. What a great company to fix a problem others would not even consider a problem!

They are in the business of providing comfort during times of panic and lucid hallucination. ;)

Even though I was offered a new liner, I fixed the issue myself by using a small file and widening the diameter of the machined/laser cut hole just a bit and it allowed the barrel spacer/stand off to sit flush. Knife is smoother now, and perfect.

We need more people like you around here, had a small problem and even though you were offered a a new liner, you fixed like a boss! Good job!

Congrats on fixing the knife. I'm glad to hear that it was a minor issue. Feels good to fix stuff doesn't it? ;)

I was a bit concerned that my warranty would have been voided, that is why I did not attempt to fix it until after I spoke to the warranty dept. They told me it would be no problem if I attempted to fix it myself, and they would be happy to send a new liner if needed.

That small gap between the liner and barrel spacer created a pressure on the bushings toward the front of the knife. Fixing the liner and making that barrel spacer fit flush has made this knife extremely smooth, as designed. I hope this helps anyone have this same issue, although you might not notice it like I did.
