Gen 5 005RWSCA-8 09-30-20111

Hi,
I have a Gen 5 issue date on box is 09-30-2011 Model 0005RWSCA-B Catalog #3842. I have seen the Gen 5 with a charcoal handle, a gen 5 with the CPM154 steel but for the life of me cannot find this in the 2007 through 2012 Buck Catalog nor have I been able to find anything on the net. Checked the Bay for current/completed and sold in the advanced section ut again nothing.
I am wondering what I have other than a fancy Gen 5 charcoal with rosewood handles. Wold like to know what the CA on the model number stands for. Hope pictures help.

I had one just like that , sold to an Ebay seller about a month or 2 ago. It was one of the very 1st Gen 5's sold. Hope this helps.

"CA" stands for Cabela's. Exclusives are sometimes labeled with the retailer. You'll learn them quick enough. BP Bass Pro, DK Dicks, SM Smoky Mountain, SH Shepard Hills, you get the idea. Cabelas has sold a number of special project Gen5's and most recently sold both the standard charcoal Dymondwood and the nicely checkered rosewood Dymondwood. I think the checkered rosewood may have been an exclusive for Cabela's but not sure without a little research. Special orders for retailers will not show in the Buck General Catalogs. I see you are a BCCI Life Member, that gives you access to the Special Projects lists where these types of knives can sometimes be found listed. A quick search found yours listed on the 2011 SP list. I have the rosewood and others but still holding out for a deal on the plain charcoal. HTH /Roger
