Gene Ingram knives?

Bob Dozier seems to be the "king" of small to medium fixed blades and his reputation is well deserved. I just learned about another small to medium fixed blade knife maker named Gene Ingram. Since I usually can only affort production knives I'm not all that familiar with custom knife makers (unless they have a production model on the market). Has anyone had experience with Ingram knives and if so, what did you think? Is he well known enough to get a good resale price if necessary, as one would get if reselling a Dozier knife? I sure like the looks of many of his designs.

Regards and thanks much

I've got 3 Ingram knives, and one on the way. I don't think they can be beat. His work is top quality, and for the price it's amazing. They are great working knives, I gave one to my father for Christmas a few years ago and he tells me it's the best knife he's ever used for deer.

I can't tell you anything about resale, I would never sell mine. That might be why it's hard to find examples of resale, people tend to keep them.

I only have one Gene Ingram,I've had one other, but currently, this is the one.
The other.re-sold in a ,matter of hours,here in bladeforums.Gene is a master craftsman,who stands behind his product 100% !

You probably gave the best endorcement that one could give. Well, last night I picked up this little beauty in S30V instead of D2 so price was a little higher (3.5 " blade). I'm sure I'll love it too. Also picked up a Dozier for comparison. Told myself I would keep one and sell the other but I think I was just kidding myself. Don't have it yet but if anyone is interested, here is a pic....

Thanks for the input. Sounds like I bought a good knife.

A beauty!!! Thank you for the input.

Gene Ingram is an extremely talented knifemaker and all-around great person to deal with.

You will not be disappointed.

I'm sure he's willing to discuss your needs and make sure you feel confident with your purchase before you make a commitment, just the kind of guy he is.

I really like the looks of his pocket-sized fixed-blades. Been meaning to get one for years, but things keep getting in the way.
Have to bump him to the top of the list!
Really like this one, think I might save some pennies & call him up.

I have four of Gene's knives on order, there supposed to be ready by christmas which isn't to bad for a wait since I orderd in July.

I bought a matched pair of knives from Gene. Gave one to my brother, I have the other one. Neither one of us have anything but good to say. Great knives and easy guy to deal with.

I have one of Gene's knives, it is extremely well made and nicely finished. I like it so much I ordered another. The only drawback is that his waiting list is a little long, but I guess that's because the knives are so good that more and more people are ordering them.

Gene Ingram knives have great fit, finish, and balance. They are designed by a man who knows what is needed in a knife in the field...they're meant to be used.

Gene, himself, has top notch ethics, and will not leave a customer less than happy. He's a terrific guy.

I've had a couple of his knives. Here's a shot of my current favorite in elephant ivory and D2.

Great input and pictures. Thank to all. I got lucky on Ebay and bought one the night before I started this thread. A Dozier that I was going to buy (same seller) was purchased right out from under me so I didn't really have time to waste. All of them had only been for sale about 3 hours so had to act fast. I bought it right then and there. I also picked up a beautiful little Dozier. Both are new and never used. Prices was about retail but I didn't have to wait for them to be made, which is worth a lot. I opened the thread to see if I had made a good purchase since I had not heard of Ingram before. All I've heard has been positive and the pics are great. Keep them coming, if you wish, and thank you again. The one I was lucky enough to purchase is also the one I would have picked off of his website. Doesn't get any better then that. I'm waiting patiently for its arrival.
